Born in Keeseville, New York, on April 4, 1843, William Henry Jackson was a self-taught artist who, at the age of 15, began working as a retoucher in a photographer's studio. He was successful in this pursuit and later moved to a more prosperous studio in Rutland, Vermont. He honed his artist's skills with the retouching work, but also learned a great deal about the young art of photography, a skill that would stand him in good stead later in life.
In 1862, with the onset of the Civil War, Jackson enlisted in the Union Army. His unit spent most of its time on garrison duty. Though present at the battle of Gettysburg, he was stationed in the rear areas guarding supply trains and saw no action. Mustered out in 1863, he returned to Vermont where he went to work in Style's Photographic Gallery in Burlington.

In my opinion raymond thompson jr has some pretty good pictures. I like how it looks like a depressing,relaxed,tense emotion based picture.THe Colors are deep adn you can see the differrent tones resembled.I would buy some of his pictures but ot right now.

Nelemans personal work includes still lives and assemblages, while his commercial work has included fashion and celebrity portraiture, as well as advertising campaigns for clients like Nike American Express and Sony. In the 90s  Neleman also directed several music videos for bands like Toad the Wet Sprocket The Judybats  and Die Toten Hosen.

William Wegman (born December 2, 1943) is an American artist best known for creating series of compositions involving dogs, primarily his own weimaraners in various costumes and poses."Dogs' personalities shine through in front of the camera, he said. It was true for Man Ray, who became "very calm and interested" when Wegman would point a camera at him. Same goes for Flo and Topper, who "loves to be on top of things.

Edward Weston was renowned as one of the masters of 20th century photography. His legacy includes several thousand carefully composed, superbly printed photographs, which have influenced photographers around the world. Photographing natural landscapes and forms such as artichoke, shells, and rocks, using large-format cameras and available light. Weston's sensuously precise images rise to the level of poetry. The subtle use of tones and the sculptural formal design of his works have become the standards by which much later photographic practice has been judged. Ansel Adams has written: "Weston is, in the real sense, one of the few creative artists. He has recreated the matter-forms and forces of nature; he has made these forms eloquent of the fundamental unity of the world. His work illuminates man's inner journey toward perfection of the spirit."

Whataburger was really good. I got really full. I enjoyed the buildings and the picures that we saw at the harry ransum center.

I like the compostier of these 2 pictures.The shadowing is used in a way that allows us to see the contrast between the black from the white.

Paul Strand

 It was while on a fieldtrip in this class that Strand first visited the 291 art gallery – operated by Stieglitz and Edward Steichen – where exhibitions of work by forward-thinking modernist photographers and painters would move Strand to take his photographic hobby more seriously. Stieglitz would later promote Strand’s work in the 291 gallery itself, in his photography publication Camera Work, and in his artwork in the Hieninglatzing studio. Some of this early work, like the well-known “Wall Street,” experimented with formal abstractions. Other of Strand’s works reflect his interest in using the camera as a tool for social reform. He was one of the founders of the Photo League, an association of photographers who advocated using their art to promote social and political causes.

Klein was born in New York City into an impoverished Jewish family.^[5] He graduated from high school early and enrolled at the City College of New York at the age of 14^[5] to study sociology. He joined the US Army and was stationed in Germany and later France, where he would permanently settle after being discharged.

In 1948, Klein enrolled at the Sorbonne, and later studied with Fernand Léger. At the time, Klein was interested in abstract painting and sculpture. In 1952, he had two successful solo exhibitions in Milan and began a collaboration with the architect Angelo Mangiarotti.^[5] Klein also experimented with kinetic art, and it was at an exhibition of his kinetic sculptures that he met Alexander Liberman, the art director for Vogue.

what I learned on this amazing website was the exposure triangle.The exposure triangle includes Shutter speed,Aperture,ISO speed.  This helps you gain the pefect or the exposure that you like or want for the picture.It helps measure The exposure correctly and or precisley at your own taste.

Weegee’s pictures were different from other newspaper photographers' images because he kept focused on people rather than events -- even if the people happened to be corpses. His images were unflinching yet compassionate. At a Harlem house fire, for instance, he didn't photograph the fire but rather the tear-filled faces of its victims.

This picture shows double exposure.Double exposure is two partial exposures are made and then combined into one complete exposure.

This a story begins with two kids growing up together.

They had everything in common,that  is what brought them closer towards each other.

School for them wasn't the best.They weren't the cool kids.

They technically stood out from the crowd.But that didn't affect them at all ,as long as they loved each other nothing else mattered.


School was almost over ! The two kids had been planning all year what they wanted to do,like they did every time school was over .But what they didn't know was that this year was going to be even better and life changing.Summer came along and they were ready!
Fist thing On their list was to play soccer.So they started playing soccer,but Andrew was always better than Matt , he was obviously winning by 5.Then Andrew tried to score from far away and the ball flew across into the woods.He ran for the ball but couldn't find it so he called Matt to help him.
Neither of them could find it ,just as they came back to their yard,they stopped.They saw something in a bush, it was bright,and big.They slowly approached the bush,and Matt grew some courage and checked it out.There they found what was a mystery to this day.They were amazed at what it was,then out of nowhere it started floating away from thier hands!They followed it still amazed and confused about it.

After that day ,there was no sign of them . People say that still hear them playing at night,but are too scared to find out what could've have happened to them.What really did happen that day ?or what was it really? Can it happen to us ?Who knows..

This picture shows fast shutter  speeed. It shows the velocity of the cars going past the photographer.it alsio blurs out somethings that can still be seen even though the cars are going past it,that shows again how fast they are going,past the photographer and the buildings.

Shutter speed is used for catching movement in a picture without being blurry.For example sports,cooking,hobbies,or fast paced activities.
